A: Changes in your lifestyle, such as eating a diet low in saturated fat, getting regular physical activity, and managing your weight can help lower your cholesterol and reduce your chance of developing heart disease, as well as improving your health in other ways.
A: You may be able to speak with a Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Educator in your physician’s office. Your Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Educator may also contact you for a phone appointment, so you can choose a time that is convenient to you. Many patients choose to speak to the Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Educator on their lunch break or from the comfort of their own homes!
A: You should continue taking medicine as recommended by your physician. However, making therapeutic lifestyle changes will help keep your medicine dosage as low as possible, and will also help reduce other risk factors for heart disease.
