Atherotech is a fully certified and
licensed clinical Laboratory. We take pride in our ongoing certified status
as part of the "Cholesterol Reference Method Laboratory
Network."
Accuracy of Total Cholesterol and other lipoproteins such as HDL, LDL, VLDL, Lp(a), and HDL subclasses is confirmed biannually by split sample comparison with the Core Laboratory for Clinical Studies at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. The Core Laboratory for Clinical Studies at Washington University is one of the very few reference laboratories for lipids and lipoproteins; it uses beta quantification procedure (a reference procedure for lipoprotein measurement). In addition, Atherotech also participates in a highly recognized and CLIA-approved proficiency testing program administered by the New York State Department of Health.
